Photo Gallery
A series of photographic galleries with slide shows on various
subjects
In 2007 the Costa Blanca ( Spain) was hit by a very bad storm known as a
Gota Fria which means
Cold
Drop translated into English. This is where a warm and cold front meet and
for some reason a portion of the cold front with dense cloud gets isolated. This produces very heavy rain
that can last 24 hours or longer, dropping a meter or more of water on to the dry land and mountains.
Unfortunately the areas of Spain where this occurs have a lot a mountainous areas and the water gathers pace as
it tries to reach the sea. The rivers get swollen very quickly and this immense volume of water moves everything
in its path. These are pictures taken 3 days after the storm.
An interesting collage of photographs has been put together in the
form of a video with a musical background. It is very haunting and shows the how fast
water can flood a town and the devistation it can cause. this can be viewed here.
Gallery 2 - House Warming
2010
In July 2010 we celebrated the completion of
our house in the foothills of the mountains above Altea by inviting all our friends and neighbours to a
party. These photographs are a refection taken by the party guests.
Gallery 3 - General

These are general photographs that have
been taken by myself and friends that have caught my eye. More will be added from time to time.
Gallery 4 - Altea Moors and Christians
Fiesta
Photographs taken of the fiesta but they cannot capture the atmosphere of the
crowds, bands, music and the general feeling of happiness by everyone concerned. The people in the processions have
worked all year for this one fiesta for the pure joy of being there.
